Electrical & Computer Engineering

Maine has been included in the leading 15 states in the nation for smart grid investment.  The rankings are based upon each state’s smart grid policies, investment, and customer engagement.  The findings are summarized in this report from the Gridwise Alliance and the Smart Grid Policy Center.

A free software tool for managing academic life at the University of Maine is released in Android Market. It allows faculty and students to view course weekly schedule, meeting location, textbook, and faculty/staff contact information. The tool also provides maps of building and parking to help visitors and new students navigate the campus. software.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineering Department and the University of Southern Maine unveiled impressive new technology as a portable lunar habitat from NASA was assembled at UMaine (See Video).

Girl Scouts, with the support of the Girls Engineer Maine Program, came to the University of Maine to work on projects in electrical and computer engineering. See Video
